Everyone's heard that famous quote about life imitating art, right?

My problem these days is life impeding art. There are simply not enough hours in the day when you work six days a week trying to pay off your mortgage. I remember with fondness the halcyon days when I was a student and did nothing but paint all day.

Sometimes being a grown-up sucks. :(

I know exactly how you feel. Sometimes I want to do a picture so badly, but I get up at six in the morning to go to school. Then I come home at noon and by two I have to have all my homework done so I can be at work until ten..... yeah. It does suck....

Generally speaking, I agree, except that I know that when I was a student, I always found other stuff to waste my time on. ;P School sucked all the motivation out of me.

Life can be difficult when you try and balance what you want to do versus what you have to do. I know from personal experience how difficult it is to have time to do what you want sometimes. Don't give up. When you do have time to work on your art it will be all the more special to you.

I hear you!!! Work, family, housework ... they all suffer because I keep disappearing to my studio to paint. Hang in there and grab every chance you get. I like to spend my lunch times at work browsing on here and getting inspired ... it keeps me going until I can get my pencils or brushes in hand.

You had time to paint all day as a student? I have ceased to be an artist and I am an Art Major.
